EARLY LIFE / BACKGROUND
Mirei Kamiyama was born on September 5, 2000 in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. She spent her childhood and teenage years in the region before later moving to Tokyo to pursue a career in entertainment.
During her teenage years she developed a strong interest in dance and stage performance. Inspired by the glamorous performances she saw in Tokyo’s entertainment district, she began considering a career as a professional dancer.
However, she delayed moving to Tokyo out of consideration for her mother, who raised her as a single parent. After graduating from high school she worked part-time while quietly planning her future career in the entertainment industry.
When she turned 20 she carefully prepared for her move to Tokyo, including securing housing and living expenses before discussing her plans with her family. After receiving her mother’s approval, she moved to the capital and began pursuing her dream.
She successfully passed the audition for Burlesque Tokyo, one of Japan’s most famous show dance venues, during the COVID-19 pandemic period. She officially debuted as a stage performer on November 1, 2020.
